A downloadable game

Inspired by this year's theme I had some ideas that I decided to put onto the board. The goal was to mimic swarms of birds that fly on the sky in a synchronous way (apparently it is called a murmuration). From the mechanical standpoint - I wanted to make faction that is not complex but has interesting decisions, and would feel like classic Root. The main mechanics of the Murmuration are:

  • changing the order of Daylight actions (these white squares on the board are cardboard tokens), making your engine better with each swap
  • "worker-placement-y" way of using your warriors after a battle

This is definitely not balanced yet, nor it is final. Abilities and scoring could be adjusted.

This one is great. I love the audacity of placing ten warriors in one recruit action, and then using them as a resource to improve your engine. Feels very fresh and different.
